I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love avocados. On my sandwiches, on my hair, on my salads, on my face...
You heard (read?) right. A few weeks ago I came across two unforgettable recipes, one for a Chocolate Avocado Face Mask and another for a Coconut Avocado Deep Conditioner. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to try them out. No unnecessary packaging or damaging toxins here!
Here are the recipes:
DIY Hair Mask
Mash one Avocado in a deep bowl, add 3 tablespoons of Olive Oil and 1/2 cup of Coconut Milk and combine. Warm up the mixture, either on your stove or in your microwave. Then apply liberally onto your hair from root to end and massage it in.
DIY Face Mask
Combine 1/3 cup of Cacao Powder, 1/4 cup of Raw Honey, 2 tablespoons of Avocado, and 3 tablespoons of Corn Meal (exfoliator). Apply to face.
Easy enough, No?
Overall, I LOVED the face mask. Not only did it smell amazing, but I knew it was working once I felt my face get tight and the mask began to crumble. Once I washed it off, I was left with soft and smooth skin. Seriously, chocolate and avocado can do no wrong. Although the hair mask did leave my hair looking healthy and shiny, it's consistency was difficult to apply, it smelled horrible, and it left a gross mess in my sink.
